Your OVOU card leverages cutting-edge Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to seamlessly share your profile with others. This guide will explain how it works, how to use it effectively, and what to do if a device doesn’t support NFC.

What is NFC?

Near Field Communication (NFC) is a wireless technology that allows data exchange between devices that are within a few centimeters of each other. It’s widely supported on modern smartphones:
  1. iPhones: Supported on all models from iPhone 7 onward.
  2. Android: Supported on most Android phones manufactured since 2012.

How Does the OVOU Card Work with NFC?

  1. Encoded NFC Chip: Your OVOU card contains a chip that stores and transmits your profile data to NFC-enabled smartphones.
  2. NFC Chip Placement
    1. Android Phones: NFC chips are typically in the center of the phone.
    2. iPhones: NFC chips are located at the top of the phone, near the camera.
  3. NFC Activation:
    1. iPhones: NFC is always enabled and requires no manual setup.
    2. Android Phones: NFC may need to be enabled manually in the phone’s settings.
  4. Tapping Your OVOU Card: Simply tap your OVOU card on the NFC-enabled phone, and it will retrieve your profile from the cloud.

What if the Phone Doesn't Have NFC?

Some older devices don't have NFC capabilities, or it may be too complex to instruct someone on how to activate it. In these cases, we'd recommend scanning the QR code on the card to access your OVOU profile.

Quick Tips for Successful Tapping

  1. Placement Matters: Align the card with the phone’s NFC chip for the best results.
  2. Enable NFC (if needed): On Android devices, ensure NFC is enabled in the phone’s settings.
  3. Use the QR Code: If NFC doesn’t work, direct the user to scan the QR code on the card.
